They are tubeless ready but you will need sealant (plus sealant, a taped wheel & a valve)

Tubeless tires allow you to run lower air pressure and not worry about a pinch flat on your tube. Lower pressures allow for more surface contact &, thus, more traction. More traction = more better

No. If you can do basic bike maintenance, you can setup a tire tubeless. It's totally worth converting over.

Various tubeless valves are available. Stans makes a nice one; if you’re planning to install CushCore, you have to use a side-exit valve

That’s a massive topic of debate. Again, Stans works great. In a pinch, black Gorilla Tape is a little heavy but works great.

Again, huge can of worms. Any reputable brand should work well. We generally use Orange Seal.

Our Trail Casing is a single wall tire with a folding bead, generally what most people consider “normal” mountain biking.
Our Gravity Casing is a double-wall tire with a wire bead. These are heavy-duty generally for gravity riding like downhill racing or freeride terrain.

If you’re wondering which casing you should get, you probably want a Trail Casing tire.

Threads Per Inch, a measurement for the number of cords in an inch of tire casing. Lower TPI has higher gauge cords and a more durable carcass. A higher TPI tire has smaller gauge cords & is more lightweight.

A soft-rubber impregnated woven mesh that resists both punctures & air leakage.
Think of it like an extra ½ layer of super-soft rubber laid between the casing & tread that acts as a shield, holding air in & helping to keep stuff out.

They're designed to work on either. The accordion folds and siping give excellent traction whether you’re turning, accelerating or braking.

The folding bead/trail compound has a 63a durometer in the middle & 60a durometer on the sides.
The wire bead/grip compound has a 59a durometer in the middle & 52a durometer on the sides.

Generally, a tire made of a higher durometer has better tread life, and a tire made of a softer durometer has more grip. Durometer hardness is only one of many compound properties for tires. Other variables such as rebound, tear resistance, chemical composition, tread pattern, siping & casing design all work together to determine a tire’s ride characteristics.

Small grooves or recesses in the knobs of tires that allow them to conform to the terrain.

Angled approaches on the front of our center knobs allow the tire to roll with less resistance (faster).

Small fold lines molded into the leading edge on the side knobs of our tires which allow the tires to conform to the shape of the terrain, providing more traction.
